Checking the entry is not already on the wiki

It's simple to check whether the paper you're planning to add is on the wiki. Just use the search box on the top right to look for the title.

A quicker way to check is also to type the first author's name followed by the year, and see if a likely entry pops up automatically.

For example: type 'Sacks197' into the box, and you'll see a list of auto completions ranging from Sacks1974, Sacks1974a, and Sacks1979 pop up:

You can then click on the ones you think might be your entry.

When you're sure it's not already on the site, then, check the entry is not on its way into the wiki (see below).

At the moment we are still digitizing the Static EMCA bibliographies from Paul ten Have's site. This is a temporary thing (at the current rate we'll probably finish by the end of 2015), this means that when adding new entries, it's important to check that there's not already an entry in Paul's old site that will (in time) be systematically added to the wiki.

If you have an entry you're about to add, the best way to check whether it's already in the bibliography is to use a specialised google search designed to check Paul's old site for the title.

For example, if I want to add Schegloff's paper 'Word repeats as unit ends', I'll type the following into my browser:

site:www.paultenhave.nl "Word repeats as unit ends"

The results will show me that this entry is in the EMCA bibliography:

In this case, I'll either leave it and add something else (because I'll know that the entry will eventually be digitized), or I'll volunteer to help with the Static EMCA bibliographies and digitize it myself!
