|Abstract=À partir d’un examen de la littérature consacrée à l’étude des interactions téléphoniques, cet article présente la façon dont l’analyse conversationnelle a thématisé la question de la technologie. D’abord abordée de manière presque périphérique, l’infrastructure technologique des conversations médiatisées, qui constituent pourtant l’une des sources principales de cette discipline, est aujourd’hui le point de départ de nombreuses recherches. La diversification des modes d’interaction à distance, comme la participation de l’analyse conversationnelle à la conception et à l’expérimentation de technologies conduit à enrichir les angles de comparaison entre les formats d’organisation de l’interaction. This paper presents how both classical conversation analysis studies and recent, applied CA-oriented works conceive the link between conversational organization and technology. First, we discuss the role of the telephone in classic CA Studies and in more recent debates on mobile phone conversations. Through a discussion of a recent CA-inspired study of a mobile instant messaging, we stress on the relevance of CA for the understanding of practical orientations to technological features in mediated conversations. Finally we argue that the development of CA-inspired research in the evaluative process of new communication technologies design is an opportunity for identifying generic features of the interactional organization, while they permit to deepen our understanding of sequential environments.
