Advanced level CA/DP Workshops at Loughborough, February - March 2015.

In order to fill spare places on our Masters programme in Conversation Analysis Loughborough are making a selection of the semester 2 modules available as standalone workshops:

  • Applications of Interaction Research. Professor Charles Antaki, Professor Elizabeth Stokoe and Professor Paul Drew. 13th - 15th Feb, 2015
    • This workshop explores the study and application of interaction analysis in: mediation services; psychotherapy; commercial sales calls; support for people with intellectual impairment; police consultancy work; health and other telephone help-lines, including specialised case studies.
  • Advanced Topics in Conversation Analysis. Professor Paul Drew and Professor John Heritage. 20th – 22nd March, 2015
    • This workshop explores the development of analysis, covering CA topics such as: analytic strategy, including building and working with collections; multimodal interactions; epistemics; emotion in interaction; affiliation and alignment; advice; complaints; promises; requests, directives and recruitments.
  • Advanced studies in professional and clinical interaction. Professor Paul Drew and Professor John Heritage. 27th-29th March, 2015
    • This workshop provides in-depth coverage of the application of CA methods to areas such as: service encounters; legal proceedings; medical and other therapeutic interactions; expert systems control; classrooms; care-work; news interviewing and broadcasting

The cost for each 3 day workshop will be £350

Note that these workshops are designed for researchers who have already had some exposure to CA, so in the first instance, please apply in person to a.hepburn@lboro.ac.uk with a brief outline of your CA experience.
