The Institute for Communication Studies at the UDE is part of the Faculty of Humanities, which is one of the largest faculties at the UDE with over 300 employees. The focus of the subject is an understanding of 'communication' as a complex form of social practice - the understanding of which includes situation-specific processes, their multimodal constitution, their embeddedness in social and institutional problem contexts as well as digital implementation conditions - which is researched both empirically and theoretically. Your main tasks You will carry out research tasks on the topic of 'Human-Technology Interaction & Assistance' as part of the “Center for Assistive Technologies Rhine-Ruhr” project and thus contribute to the orientation and development of the interdisciplinary center of the same name.

You research communicative-interactive methods of support in everyday contexts and contribute to the conceptualization of assistance (systems) as well as to the development of interdisciplinary evaluation protocols for human-technology interaction.
