Abstract
À partir d'une position d'anthropologue linguiste, Goodwin a bâti une véritable armature conceptuelle et méthodologique pour rendre compte de l'organisation des activités humaines. La notion de co-opération y tient une place centrale, et elle permet de prendre en compte ce qui se joue aussi bien dans les conversations ordinaires que dans les pratiques professionnelles, les transmissions culturelles, ou les modes d'expression des phénomènes cognitifs. Une riche pensée systémique se déploie. C'est à la fois sur son parcours (des préoccupations initiales pour le langage à un intérêt pour le corps et les pratiques incarnées dans l'agir collectif), sur les outils et concepts qu'il fait émerger, et sur l'intérêt de tels travaux pour les sciences humaines fran\ccaises que le présent article entend revenir.
Notes
As a linguistic anthropologist, Goodwin elaborates a conceptual and methodological framework to describe the organization of human activities and conducts. The central notion of co-operation accounts for what is at stake in ordinary conversation as well as in professional practices, cultural transmissions, or expressions of cognitive phenomena ; and crosses bridges in a rich and systematic manner. The article will outline the different stages of Goodwin's work, from an initial interest in language to the consideration of the role of the body and embodied practices in collective action. It will focus on the tools and concepts that have progressively emerged, and will eventually evoke the potential payoffs of such a body of work for French social sciences.
