Abstract
Feminist conversation analysis (CA) uses the methods of conversation analysis to investigate issues of interest to feminist scholars and to contribute to social change. Feminist CA can be used to respecify feminist concepts (such as 'emotion work' or 'sexual harassment') by examining how the behaviors to which they refer are accomplished in interaction. It can explore the taken-for-granted assumptions that constitute sexist and gendered realities. It can also be used to assist feminist helplines, educational programs, and other charities by designing interventions that improve their practice.
