2016 Post-doctoral CA researcher at Loughborough University -:

Details:

We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher, trained in CA, to work with us (Elizabeth Stokoe and Rein Sikveland) on a Conversation Analytic Role-play Method (www.carmtraining.org) project for approximately 200 hours part time (over a mutually convenient timescale), studying telephone calls between prospective students and universities during the ‘clearing and adjustment’ process in the UK (see www.ucas.com).

The person appointed should have a PhD in CA (or near completion), be able to transcribe telephone calls using the Jefferson system, analyse large datasets, and produce written reports. Some experience of coding and statistics would be helpful, but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity to work with colleagues at Loughborough University in applied CA and to gain experience in translating research findings into training workshops using CARM.

The post will start asap Autumn 2016 (again, at a mutually convenient date) and must finish before the end of March 2017. The successful candidate will be appointed at point 32 on the Grade 6 scale (£21.87 per hour).

For further information and to apply, please contact Elizabeth Stokoe and send a CV and cover letter (e.h.stokoe@lboro.ac.uk) by October 24th 2016.
