Abstract
« Faire du coude » est une activité interactionnelle qui consiste à produire une incitation à l’action et à y répondre. L’article examine la réalisation de cette activité à l’aide d’énoncés déclaratifs au format « il y a x ». A dit, par exemple, « il y a une urgence » et B répond « je vais voir », se mobilisant ainsi par rapport au traitement de l’urgence en question. Le résultat de cette activité est le recrutement d’une personne responsable d’agir qui peut décider de l’action à prendre en réponse à l’état de fait signalé et s’engager d’elle-même pour la mener à bien. Nous décrivons la séquence langagière propre à l’activité étudiée ainsi que l’environnement local interactionnel de celle-ci. L’article est basé sur l’analyse de conversation et l’analyse multimodale d’interactions entre des membres du personnel d’un hôpital.

“Nudging” using the phrase “there is x”: Prompting action and recruiting a person responsible for action in a hospital setting«
Nudging is an interactional activity that consists of prompting action and responding to this prompt. This article examines the production of this activity based on declarative utterances in the format “there is x.” Speaker A says, for example, “there is an emergency” and B responds “I’ll go and see,” thus committing to taking action related to the emergency in question. The activity’s outcome is the recruitment of a person responsible for action who can decide what to do in response to the reported state of affairs and undertake to carry out this action themselves. We describe the sequence of turns-at-talk corresponding to the nudging as well as the activity’s local interactional environment. The article is based on conversation analysis and multimodal analysis of interactions between hospital staff members.
