Digitalizing Social Practices: Changes and consequences:

Details:

Many social practices in businesses, institutions and organizations are being digitalized. Examples include buying and selling, medical consultations, financial advising and business meetings. Research is investigating changes and consequences of digitalization, and the public is discussing its gains and losses.

The conference aims at bringing together researchers working with digitalization in all kinds of environments to share their research, the conference seeks at paving the way for new insights and approaches to digitalization, including:

- knowledge about patients’, clients’, customers’ as well as doctors’, sales persons’, bankers’ and organizations’ social practices

- research questions and methodology

- social impact

The interest in interdisciplinary dialogue springs from a research project on the digitalization of buying and selling interaction, funded by the Velux Foundations. Methodologically, the project seeks to join multimodal EMCA approaches and multimodal Social Semiotics approaches, but we also invite and aim to include other research areas, theories, and approaches.

The conference is co-funded by the VELUX foundations.

Due to Denmark's current Covid-19 guidelines which apply until 28.02.2021, the conference will be held online. More infomation to follow.

Deadline for registration is January 31st 2021.
