Abstract
Children's conversational troubles are examined below through ana- lysis of two conversations; the first is fictional and the second occurred naturally. In both cases the analytic concern is with two questions: what sorts of troubles do children have in conversations, and how is some sort of orderliness reasserted despite these troubles?
