Abstract
The term “conversational analysis” denotes a relatively recent research field, which was originally developed by sociologists and was then taken up by linguists and made a decisive contribution to the development of conversational research in linguistics. The book is designed as an introduction to the field and is primarily intended for readers interested in applying conversational analysis to conversations in French. It provides an overview of research, deals with central themes and imparts basic knowledge to enable readers to conduct their own analyses.
