|Abstract=As scholars both in the UK and we discuss a distinctive approach to developing impact that rests upon close cooperation between academics and practitioners from the outset of a particular project. The approach draws upon ethnomethodology and conversation analysis and addresses the social and interactional foundations of work and organization, an approach that increasingly uses video-recordings of everyday activities augmented by field studies.
