Abstract

This review looks at two books by Baudouin Dupret both subtitled as ethnomethodological studies, although arguably veering toward Symbolic Interaction in Garfinkel’s terms, and so as well as describing the nature of the texts, the tricky question of what constitutes an ethnomethodological inquiry will be raised. The books will be critiqued, as perspicuous examples, in light of this question but I wish to stress from the start that both texts were informative and stimulating reads.
