Abstract

This artide analyses how talk is managed in a TV debate show, where politicans discuss issues in the presence of a Studio audience. Taking äs its case an episode from the British TV show Question Time, it examines the contextually sensitive use of conversational resources to build a local structure of alignment and counter-alignment between two disputing panel members and sections of the Studio audience.
