Transcriber:

Details:

Applications are invited for a Transcriber to work with a team working with Dr Jack Joyce on a research programme on the New remission care pathway: Diabetes Adaptive Weight management Network “NewDAWN” project. This will deliver a new pathway for patients to achieve remission from type 2 diabetes—our aim is to offer a care pathway which supports the varied needs of patients so they can each lose as much weight as possible.

The successful applicant will support Qualitative Researchers in the Health Behaviours team by transcribing audio recordings using the Jeffersonian system of transcription. The line manager and Health Behaviours team will be committed to supporting your professional development.

Responsibilities will include transcribing audio recordings, prepare and manage the interactional data, including data anonymization, and closely follow information security protocols.

You will have experience in transcription for research purposes, have experience with or willingness to learn Jeffersonian transcription, be able to manage your own workload and administrative activities, have a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will had experience and knowledge of audio/video software (e.g. Audacity, Adobe Audition) and Microsoft Office. You will be able to work remotely, and be able to work flexibly around data collection which will include very light and intense periods of transcription

You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

The position is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Diabetes UK until 28 February 2024 in the first instance.
