CA Data Sessions South
CA Data Sessions South (CADSS) is an EMCA working and developmental group that runs regular data and developmental sessions for analysts at all levels of development. CADSS provides regular data sessions for participants to engage in sustained analytical practice through shared analysis and discussion of presented excerpts from members' data. Additionally, CADSS offers a series of developmental sessions that enables participants to learn about, and discuss key topics in CA, and examine how these have been applied to healthcare interactions.

Data Sessions
Data sessions take place on the last Thursday of every month, and are announced on the CADSS Twitter Feed These data sessions represent a fundamental part of conversation analysis, and CADSS remains open to participants and presenters at all levels of development. Data sessions offer a fantastic opportunity for sustained analytical practice, but also are an excellent forum for learning about the practical aspects of doing conversation analysis by observing what happens in these mutually inspiring analytical playgrounds.
Developmental Sessions
CADSS has developed a series of educational sessions where participants can learn about the core concepts and topics of conversation analysis, and discuss how these have been applied to healthcare interactions. The ten-part series is delivered in between the data sessions and serves as a gentle introduction to some of the core concepts of conversation analysis, while offering an examination into how these have applied to a specific, institutionalised setting. Each session has a set of reading materials, learning objectives, and key questions that are addressed during the discussion session. In addition to this, a mini-lecture is recorded for each session that offers an overview of the key topic under discussion along with some examples of how it has been applied to a particular healthcare setting.
