Workshop on CA Transcription 4th November 2016:

Details:

We are holding a series of Conversation Analysis workshops, to suit everyone from complete beginners to established researchers looking for some specialist top-up.

Each workshop will be led by a CA expert, and feature a good deal of hands-on data analysis, group work and feedback, all in an informal but hard-working atmosphere.

Workshop on CA Transcription

Rein Sikveland (Specialist in CA transcription, prosody and instititutonal data) 10.00-17.00 on Friday 4th November 2016.

This is a practical workshop to develop the transcription skills of PhD students and researchers using conversation analysis (CA). The workshop focuses primarily on the Jeffersonian convention, and includes exercises in phonetic listening skills, digital data management and anonymization. Some familiarity with conversation analysis and data collection would be an advantage. Data and materials are supplied on the day.
