|Abstract=Cet article présente le champ de l'analyse conversationnelle multimodale, en faisant référence à la manière dont il s'est développé sur la scène internationale et dont les contributions portant sur des corpus vidéo francophones y ont contribué. Il discute aussi les défis que la multimodalité – entendue comme l'ensemble des ressources langagières et incarnées (gestes, regards, mimiques faciales, postures, mouvements du corps, y inclus des manipulations d'artefacts) mobilisées par les participants à l'interaction pour l'organiser de manière publiquement intelligible – pose pour l'analyse séquentielle de l'interaction sociale. Afin de discuter empiriquement ces aspects, l'article propose dans la dernière partie une analyse d'une collection portant sur une séquence d'actions – les requêtes visant des actions à réaliser immédiatement et leurs réponses – pour lesquelles le formatage multimodal est fondamental. This article offers a presentation of the field of multimodal conversation analysis, by reference to the way it has been developed in the international context as well as to the way studies of French video data have contributed to it. The paper also discusses some challenges represented by multimodality – understood as the range of interactional resources, including language, gesture, gaze, facial expressions, postures, body movements and artifact manipulations, mobilized by participants in order to organize their exchange in publicly accountable ways – for the sequential analysis of social interaction.
