Abstract
L’article rend compte d’un scandale qui a éclaté en Égypte sur la question du port du voile et montre comment cette affaire constitue un « réseau dialogique » liant de multiples instances, dont la presse et le Parlement. Nous expliquons d’abord ce que sont les réseaux dialogiques, puis nous cherchons à reconstituer le réseau de l’« affaire du voile », montrant à la fois son inscription dans un contexte public large et son unité spécifique. Nous rendons alors visible la manière dont le réseau dialogique s’étend et s’articule avec une séance parlementaire. Enfin, nous nous attachons à décrire, dans le détail de son déploiement, la manière dont un scandale initié dans la presse trouve un écho dans l’hémicycle du Parlement.

Beyond the Veil: An Analysis of an Egyptian Dialogical Network
The paper describes a scandal that broke out in Egypt on the issue of the wearing of the veil and shows how this case constitutes a “dialogical network” linking multiple instances, among which the press and the Parliament. We firstly explain what we mean by dialogical network. Then, we seek to reconstitute the specific network of the “case of the veil”, showing both its embedment within a broad public context and its specific unity. We make visible the way the dialogical network expands and articulates in a parliamentary session. Finally, we provide the detailed description of the unfolding of a scandal which originates in the press and echoes within the parliamentary precinct.
